Who doesn’t love traveling? So much that, many times, we don’t even mind staying in a cramped plane, right? But, when the flight is long, the cramped seats become a nuisance which will later cause backache (mainly) and other kinds of pain.
How about trying first class? I’ve looked for all the info available on the first class of Emirates Airlines. Considered to be one of the 10 best airlines worldwide, their First Class is quite luxurious.
Who doesn’t want to be alone enjoying a glass of wine (alone or with someone) without being disturbed by a neighbor passenger? If you travel First Class on Emirates, this is totally possible! All you have to do is simply close your doors. That’s right! Each cabin features doors so that you can enjoy your flight privately.
It’s just too good to be true! You can also dim the lights, choose your music, read and watch stuff. There’s entertainment for all styles. The seat, totally reclining (you couldn’t expect any less) is like a mattress. Great to sleep and relax until you get to your destination.
I’m serious! The place looks like a bedroom. There’s a vanity table, so that you get off the plane looking your best. According to the airline website, their First Class master suite is available in most A380 and Boeing 777 aircrafts.
Gourmet on board
You’re pretty sure the food is always heated up, right? Well, on the contrary actually! The menu available in First Class can be prepared any time you want. From à la carte options to appetizers in the middle of the night.
The dishes, according to the company, are inspired in the local cuisine, created by chefs with fresh local ingredients. And you know what else? They use Royal Doulton china and exclusive silverware by Robert Welch.
In case you want to pair your dish and wine, the Emirates’ sommelier is there to give you a hand. There’s also a huge menu with cocktails, champagne, beers, spirits, among other drinks.
Just to give you some examples of meals, on the Brisbane-Singapore route, for instance, they serve Asian braised ribs and fried lobster with black bean sauce. There are also healthy meals if you can’t skip your diet (I’m one).
SPA over the clouds
It sounds like a joke, but I can assure you it’s not, my dear reader. In Emirates First Class you can also enjoy a SPA with a refreshing shower. The Shower Spa can be found on their A380 aircraft.
And the shower product line couldn’t be less luxurious: Bvlgari and exclusive Timeless Spa products. After the shower, it’s time to recharge your batteries with detox juices created by their chefs.
A good deal of networking
If you think they would only give you the opportunity to enjoy it all alone, well, you’re wrong again. There’s an exclusive lounge on the A380 for the First and Business Classes. This way, you can meet new people and, who knows, you could even do business on board.
There are lots of opportunities. Man, it’s like a hotel on the top of a thousand feet height. Honestly, I find it all incredible and sophisticated. It’s not for everyone, definitely!
Entertainment and more
Networking, check! Drinks, check! Now you want to get back to your suite and relax? Great, so pick out a channel among the 2,500 movie and TV show channels available in many languages. You can also listen to international music or have some fun playing a game.
You can see the news and keep yourself up to date with everything that’s happened in your destination.
The First Class experience starts even before you leave your home. Emirates offers a car and a private driver when you fly First Class. And the best part: For free! According to the company, the benefits include both ways to and from the airport to over 70 cities.
Now, inside the airport, you can go to their exclusive lounges. And, if you happen to be in Dubai, the airline recommends boarding from the lounge itself, in the terminal of the A380. That’s not all: If you’re flying First or Business Class, you’re entitled to a Fast Track card, which gives you faster access through Immigration in most airports.
Ready to be pampered?
On top of all the luxury, Emirates also gives their passengers exclusive Bvlgary kits. Since they have a partnership with the Italian brand, you’ll get their toiletry bag with perfumes and lotions, other than shower products.
The toiletry bags for men in the First Class are made in fine leather and, every nine months, the fragrance is changed: Red, Black, White and Green Tea. This kit is given in all flights on A380 to be used in the Shower Spa on board, on long red-eye flights and on flights lasting over 10 hours.
First Class vs. Economy
Picture this: I don’t even think you can compare first class and economy on Emirates. After all, flying economy, you’re not entitled to any private area, let alone a totally reclining seat with a mattress.
Of course there are good things about the Economy Class (which are offered in First Class as well): Wi-Fi, in-seat power outlets, on-board entertainment, ambient lighting and exclusive on-board services. So much that, if you have a restricted diet, they’ll make something especially for you.
This is it. I guess it isn’t hard to tell Emirates it a top-of-the-range airline. You can fly Economy, Business and First Class. It will all depend on how much you can afford and on the kind of experience you’re searching for.
I recommend enjoying First Class, even if you’re to do it just once in your life. Let me know about your experience later on.
