I was in Paris last week with my wife and we had the best time! You hear so much about Paris and I think many of us believe Paris is overrated but let me tell you, it is NOT! Paris is one of the best cities I have been to.
There is so much to do and see there and the best part is the FOOD, the food is amazing. Every restaurant you walk in, even if it’s a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere, the food is delicious. So I put together a list of best things to do in Paris in 3 days that I think you guys will like.
1- Luxembourg Garden or Jardin du Luxembourg
This is the most beautiful garden/park I have ever been too. This garden was created in 1612 by Marie de’ Medici, the widow of King Henry IV, for her new home, the Luxembourg palace. This is a place you should visit on a sunny day when you are looking for something relaxing to do. Make sure you separate enough time so you can walk around and see everything. Bringing some food for a picnic or a book to read is also a great idea. This is not just any garden, trust me, you are gonna be mesmerized!
2- Eiffel Tower
When I visited the Eiffel Tower I was very surprised by the size and the beauty of the tower and its surrounding area. I am usually not into rising towers and bridges but this was mind blowing.
3- Rue St Honore
This is a luxury shopping area that has some of the best stores like Dior, Hermes and Givenchy. There are also some museums and other historical sites in this area. Definitely plan on spending an entire afternoon.
4- Miss Ko
This is a very trendy Japanese restaurant that stays open until 2 AM. It’s a restaurant and also has a full bar. This is a fun place to go at night; it has very unique decoration, good upbeat music (don’t worry not too loud you can still have a conversation), great sushi and lots of people. The place is usually fully booked so make sure you make reservations.
This is a very glamorous restaurant, famously known for being the setting for the last episode of “Sex and the City”. Kong is the perfect romantic spot to have dinner, the view and the food are amazing. The place is very hip and like Miss Ko has very unique modern decor. Make sure you get a table on the second floor so you can enjoy the view. If you are looking for nightlife this is also the place to go. On Friday and Saturday night Kong turns into a club with live DJs and lots of beautiful people.
6- Musee du Louvre
One of the largest museums in the world and is the home of the Monalisa, must see!
7- Chateau de Versailles
Was the royal palace of Louis XIV and was also the capital and center of political power during his time. Versailles gives you a good picture of the luxury of a king’s life, it’s hard to process that someone actually lived there. The garden outside the palace is also beautiful. There is a small cafe inside but not worth spending your money there so make sure you eat before you go.
This is another restaurant that I loved. At this place you order right at the kitchen counter, with the chef, and he makes your food right in front of you with fresh homemade everything! There are plants like basil and other things on every table and you can just take a piece and put it on your food; thats actually where the chef also gets some of his ingredients. A staple of freshness!
9- Notre Dame Cathedral
Catholic cathedral known to be one of the best examples of French Gothic architecture.
10- Paris’ streets
Definitely set some time aside to just walk around Paris and experience the city like a local. As many people say “get lost in Paris”! Get lost, walk around, do some people watching at a nice cafe and enjoy yourself!
Hope this helps to make your Paris trip as amazing as mine was!
