It is never too early to start preparing for the big holidays and this year I chose to help you guys with a men’s minimalist outfit for New Year’s eve.
This year I decided to go big and dress to impress. But this is totally different of what you are probably thinking about.
Everyone thinks that if you want to impress and catch people’s attention you need to dress with a lot of colors, blings and textures. That’s totally not true.
If you ask any fashion expert, he or she will tell you that less is more, and even the guys with big bucks are going with this new mentally nowadays.
If you stop to think, a black and white palette is one of the most used colors in fashion. If you go to a gala dinner party, the dress code will probably be a black and white tuxedo, right?
The tuxedo is not outdated, but if you are young and you are going to a fun party instead of something very formal, you probably will want to dress with a more modern outfit.
That’s what I decided to do. Why not use the Black and white tuxedo idea and turn it into a versatile look for a casual party on New Year’s Eve?
The truth is, we will rarely go to a very fancy party where everyone is looking meticulously sharp, but we don’t want to dress too casual with a t-shirt either.
I think that a Minimalist outfit will be your best choice for the New Year’s eve.
What To Remember
The great thing about a minimalist outfit is that you don’t need to be thinking too much about matching colors because most of them will be solid and neutral colors. Black, white, pastel, etc will be the solid colors to go with.
Also I think that what makes the minimalist look cooler, is the squared cut designs. Everything looks a little bit more modern with “sharp edges”.
The Movado Edge Watch
The modern Edge watch will be perfect to give your look that “last touch”. This watch was was developed in collaboration with renowned modern industrial designer Yves Béhar who re imagined the classic Movado Museum Dial.
I personally don’t like very small watches so the 42mm is perfect for me. The blue background is just stunning and I have never seeing a single watch with this kind of shadow geometrical effect.
The Movado classic originated from a thought that turned into a global brand recognition. The signature design with the single dot at 12 represent the the sun at high noon and with the simple moving hands suggesting the earth’s daily rotation on its axis.
“We do not know time as a number sequence but by the position of the sun as the earth rotates…” Horwitt
The Movado Edge watch retail price starts at $495 and you have different choices of bands like rubber and stainless steel.
I personally have the one from the video with a stainless steel case and a blue aluminum dial. It’s my favorite watch at this moment.
