Are you the kind of guy who works all week long, studies hard and saves up as much as possible so that you can travel, get a nice car, get yourself a little something? Because I know I am! Then one day you go online and see pictures of teenagers hanging out at super fancy parties, riding yachts, or flying via private jet and wearing the most luxurious jewelry…
Yeah, man, we’re talking about the rich kids of Instagram. Most of the times they’re the children of well renowned businessmen (or heirs) in the US and Europe and, considering they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, they can certainly flaunt their riches to millions of followers (and counting…).
Each pic they post on the app is truly worth many people’s salary. Believe me! Their parties are filled with the most expensive champagnes and exclusive vodkas. And their cars will do anything but fly (literally).
Where do they go?
I spent some time observing their glamour and glitz and was quite curious to know where these people went. The restaurants, bars, parties they attend and the services they hire, etc.
And I got it! For starters, I found the super exclusive services they use.
I’m not talking about just renting a small plane to make a trip. The service offered by Air Charter Service involves transporting passengers and their properties with all the security one can get, not to mention their personalized services.
Seriously: is there anything better than getting to the airport and not having to wait in a huge line to check your bags? Plus, imagine chartering a private plane and being faced with an exclusive in-flight service based on your experience as a consumer? I mean, this is what being VIP means.
According to the company, the passengers want to be well taken care of (true story) and trust the company that is handling their own security as well as their family’s and friends’. And needless to say, their belongings.
The most amazing thing is that the company works with transportation of all kinds of loads (there’s a special service for each of them). So, if you’re thinking of bringing equipment that needs taking care of (any scratch could ruin the whole thing), Air Charter Service is the perfect aircraft charter provider and will find the right solution for you! I found the service very professional and I’ll bare it in mind in case I ever need to travel like this.
Security System for the Home
The company I found, called Creston, takes care of all the control you need at home. From music to temperature in all rooms to the alarm system of iPad.
Yes, dear reader, the rich teens consult exclusive travel agents. They’ll deal with your money to travel and will solve any tiny problem involving the airlines or hotels.
You know that movie just coming out? How about watching that in the comfort of your home? Plus all the infrastructure of the luxurious cinemas.
Suites in Events
This is it! It’s not enough to be at the VIP boxes at concerts: the celebs can have their own suites with a window wall to the event.
Now, for the sports games, there’s the option of an exclusive suite located in front of the athletes’ locker room. What can I say? Is that lavish or what?
Check out where the VIP people and celebrities go to in NY.
A private Italian restaurant, their cuisine features home-made food. It’s located in East Village and they can seat up to 28 people in their dining room, where the chef Marco Canora makes their super famous (and popular) “bone broth” in the outside area of the restaurant.
Another super busy Italian place where New York riches dine at is the L’Artusi, known for overdoing (assertively) spices like garlic, lemon, fats and peppers. Plus, their wine list is just endless.
The best thing about them is that you can book for up to 120 guests and have your exclusive dinner party. Are you wondering how much it costs? US$30,000.
This is an Israeli restaurant that serves modern Mediterranean food. It’s become the favorite of those who have a taste for this kind of food. Their private dining room on the ground floor sits up to 20 people.
This is the place for having North-American food with some Italian influence. Their best pick is certainly the oysters. Their private dinner is available for up to 14 people, or you can book the whole place for special events (the Instagram riches can do that. Sure thing).
The Infatuation, rates Charlie Bird 10/10 for both service and wine. The place itself is quite informal and cool, but their staff is most certainly “5 stars”.
The place started off as an antique shop in the 90s. You can choose between the 18-seat table for a semi-private dinner and the totally private table in their cellar.
A restaurant that seats only 8 people at quite a small table. Their cuisine, typical North-American, features Italian and Korean influence. Can I help you with your order? Try the grilled octopus or the piglet. Yummy!
Their idea is to serve small or large parties, with “privacy” always being their thing. So, you can book the balcony for 25 to 35 guests, the “meeting room” for 25 people, the loft for 20 guests or the chef’s table for 8 to 12 people.
Want to pre order the menu for your guests at the chef’s table? Take a peak: roast duck, ribs, or what they call drumroll, roast pork.
Its name was coined from “Always Bursting w / Celebrities”. The recipe to their success is the vegetable toasts (that’s right!). There, other than bumping into our little Instagram friends, you can also spot celebs like Katy Perry, Russel Brand, Meg Ryan and Stanley Tucci.
VIP people and celebrities meet up in the back room, just so they have total privacy. Madonna, Anne Hathaway, Blake Lively and Jim Carrey have recently had dinner here.
Bars and clubs
You know that very special outdoorsy place for an informal date? This is what Bar Pitti is about. And it has lots of customers, like Heidi Klum and Beyonce. What’s interesting is that the avenue where the bar sits is quite busy and resembles Champs-Élysées.
The bar, at the top of Thompson, features spectacular views of Manhattan, other than drinks and Asian sandwiches. Going there in summer is the best. But watch out: only members and their guests are allowed in the place, as well as people staying at the hotel.
To be a member, you’re required to pay an annual membership fee of US$1,000 plus an annual quota of US$ 750. Being part of this place means much more than money: it’s about who you are and the people you meet.
So, if you think it’ll be difficult to be invited to a place like this, you should know that Norwood comprises one restaurant, three lounge bars, a projection room for 45 people and spatial events and a private dining room with a capacity of 24 people
You can be sure that here the rich teens shell out around US$50,000 in order to become members. And there’s more: US$15,000 yearly. So that you have an idea of who attends the place, here are some of them: Harvey Weinstein, William Lauder, Ron Burkle, Bill Clinton, and the designer Tory Burch.
Located inside a hotel, it features a cinema, a library, a spa, a dining room and a pool which faces West Village. In order to become a member, you’ll have to dish out between US$900 to US$2,400 every year.
And be prepared: the candidates could be left out or be faced with quite a long wait. No matter who you are. Want to know who you may happen to see there? Nicole Kidman, Graydon Carter, Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman and Robert DeNiro.
Created to be more like a high-ranked meeting point for artists and writers in 1847, the place is still in full swing, however a couple of changes: today, not just artists and writers are allowed inside.
Just so you know: the mayor Bloomberg, Tina Brown, Robert Caro, Brooke Astor, Henry Kissinger, Robert Morgenthau, Andy Rooney David Rockefeller and Arthur Schlesinger Jr. Are you thinking about figures? It’s not that pricey: their annual fee is around US$2,000.
This is one of the newest private bars in NY. They opened their doors in 2009 and it sits on Broad Street, the city’s financial district. If you want to be a member, it’s possible to have unlimited access to the health club, to a private cocktail lounge and to the lunches prepared by the most renowned chefs in the house.
Why don’t you try one of these places or services?
My dear friend, some restaurants or even exclusive services can easily fit your budget. Why not? Have a rich day and show it off on Instagram.
