Depending on the kind of gym that you go to, it can be a great place to make new friends and make some great professional connections.
The gym is a neutral place and conversation is easy since you can always talk about your workout and diet, but hopefully you can get more out of these conversations.
You however need to not only invest in being part of an elite gym but you need to invest in how you present your self there.
Don’t be the dude who rolls out of bed and shows up with messy hair and pajamas…….not a good first impression!
If you are the type of guy who is hustling everyday to make it to the top you know exactly what I mean, every moment is an opportunity!
So guess what? I recently switched gyms because, as I mentioned, I believe that you need to surround yourself with people who inspire you and are “better” then you.
I spend many hours every week at the gym so I decided to make those hours count in everyway possible.
So when I switched to this better and more exclusive gym, I noticed that everyone dressed really nice so I invested in some new workout clothes.
You might think this is money wasted but it is definitely not! You never know who is gonna be there ….. And plus if you are working out and you are looking good you better have some nice tanks to show those guns off. Lets start with the basics: pants, shorts and a shirt.
To look upgrade your style and look trendy I suggest you buy joggers like this one from MPG:
I would choose darker colors so that you can mix and match with different shirts. I have a few in the colors black and grey.
If you live in the hot weather you may need to choose shorts. If you do, I really like the very basic shorts, a little bit above the knee, and in bright colors.
I prefer shorts to be in brighter colors and have a basic white or black t-shirt. It just looks more fun and summery.
If however you are not in the hot weather but you still want to wear shorts, one really cool idea is to wear shorts with compression tights underneath it, looks very fashionable!
Again depending on the color of the rest of your outfit you will decide the color of your top. Whatever you do don’t mix different bright colors, like orange shorts and blue shirt, it is just too much.
You want your look to be cool but also minimalistic, like you are not even trying. I like muscle t-shirts like this one from Under Armour. My favorite colors are white, light grey and black.
Sweatshirts, vests and Hoodies:
You can always complement the outfit with a sweatshirt, vest or a hoodie. The Adidas trefoil hoodie is a classic and I also like their vests.
Lastly but not least accessorize. Accessories really transform your entire look. When you are talking about workout wear, accessories include different things like your headphones, watches, your shoes, etc.
I am a big fan of anklets. Anklets are sexy and trendy. Check this one out:
If you can afford it the Apple watch is a great idea too.
As far as shoes go I would have to do a whole other post just to talk about that, but the best advise I can give you is to invest in good brands and buy different colors.
Don’t stick with the same black Nikes, change it up, buy something in green or yellow and just have fun with it. (Check out my favorite ones)
Enjoy your workout sessions. If you follow these tips I am sure people will see you in a different light and you’ll make some new important connections.
